I had a friend in boot camp that was going in as IT and he had to do a polygraph test in A school. He was freaking out about it the whole time. He turned out just fine. It's really not bad

Mostly depends on the command. Nearly everyone gets the general Secret clearance and they add on to that on a case by case basis. For instance, Top Secret is given to quite a few people at my command...

They have swim classes. I absolutely recommend you try to learn before basic though. It'll make your life SOOO much easier while you're there.

You're issued a "Recruit pack" which includes RTC stationary, envelopes, and stamps. If they run out of stamps, they can get some more next time they go to the exchange. I still have a bunch of them...
