The Navy Reserves aren't really what people assume they are. A lot depends on the command you get assigned. From what I'm told from the Reservists I've met and know, we had Reservists in and out of my division doing their 2 weeks, the weekends the drill they do paperwork and NKO/Power Points. Especially if you aren't by a Navy base there isn't much going on at the NOC's. Now from what I've seen and heard deployment is 99% voluntary unless you are someone who they need usually NEC dependent.
