Items at RTC

Two quick questions that I just thought about.

1: Pictures. I know we can have some small pictures at RTC but I'm trying to decide if I should take some or just have my wife mail me some with her first letters. Suggestions? Comments?

2: Religious medallions. I keep seeing things saying that we can have items as such with us. I'm not much a religious person but I have a Saint Christopher Medallion that my Grandma gave me years and year ago that I wear. Is it true we can have these things with us?
