pixie haircut for bootcamp

I read the hair length and cutting thing was lifted, but can I actually go short for bootcamp? I know tons of Army friends that chopped their hair to a pixie cut and loved it, is that okay for Navy?

Traditional pixie cuts are fine, and a lot of girls wear their hair that way. With the new hair regs, the navy published a handy dandy reference guide. Here's what it says about pixie cuts:
