			I will turn 18 halfway through boot camp, will I be allowed to speak to my parents?

			Not because you turned 18, no. You might get a phone call if your division earns one, but they won't give you anything special for your birthday.

			Generally it's wise to not make it widely known it's your birthday in boot camp.

			Don't make it known that it's your birthday. In MC JROTC we did a lot of pushups on our birthday. I dont know if its the same in boot camp, but best be careful, unless you want more pushups    |

			HA! Don't let your RDCs know. We had several people have their birthdays while in basic in our division. One of our RDCs put the orange IT card in one hand and a small piece of candy in the other. Then he would put his hands behind is back and you would have to pick a hand. If you got the hand with the card, you had to do the entire card. It was mighty entertaining    |
