So from what I know,
PACT Seaman - you're going to go through boot camp and then afterwords go through about a month of a-school and then go straight to the fleet. Generally an aircraft carrier. The idea is that once you do enough time on the ship overseeing a little bit of each job, you'll strike for a rating and go to that rating's a-school. It's definitely the fastest way to get operational, Guys I went through boot camp with some 9 months ago have already been on deployments.
