During A-School we had some pretty good ones. Had a Marine who would take all of the popular songs and turn them into "Left, Right" cadence. Also, had a BUD/S drop out who sang their cadences. Some AE made up a few cadences on the go. Also remember running to Ke$ha's "Tik Tok".

During basic training, there is a set list of cadences you are allowed to march to, and you are only allowed to use them after you pass at least one drill exam. The running cadences during PT will all depend on your RDC.

From that list I remember: Man of Steel, Here We Go, My Dog Blue. I also remember Momma Momma, C-130, and They Say In The Navy.

Our recruiter hands us different cadences and everyone has to do one as we do our group pt. Makes running a lot more enjoyable.

Interesting fact: running while calling cadence is actually harder on your body and breathing than just running silently, so by practicing your running while calling cadence, you strengthen your lungs which will make breathing and running without cadence (such as on a PFA) even easier.

I just graduated boot camp a few weeks ago...we sang Hey Sailor, Steamroller, Mama Mama, Let Em Blow....my favorite was Navy Colors.

Navy Colors
Colors of White
To Show the world
That we can fight

Navy Colors
Colors of Red
To Show the world
The blood we've shed

Navy Colors
Colors of Blue
To show the world
That we are true

Navy Colors
Colors of Gold
To show the world
That we are bold

Navy Colors
Colors of Green
To show the world
That we are mean

Navy colors
Colors of Black
To show the world
That we fight back
