Spook will become famous soon enough
Default Naval History

I heard from my recruiter that during RTC some Naval History is learned? Does anyone know how in depth RTC goes into the history of the Navy? What things are covered?

It's not in-depth at all. You're going to learn a few bits about why, for example, the Battle of Coral Sea is remembered (first naval battle where the enemy ships never encountered each other, all fought by aircraft; USS Lexington sunk), but they're not going to go any deeper than "headlines" like that. It's a bunch of "firsts" (first sub, first nuclear vessel, first carrier), famous quotes ("I have not yet begun to fight!"), and other milestones.

For ship people, I strongly believe that those on destroyers and cruisers should learn the history of their ship's namesake (destroyers - generally military personnel or people who had a big impact on the military, cruisers - battles). If they were important enough to name a warship after, they're important enough for you to know something about.
